Looking for good animes to watch?

Question

I do not have much to do until school starts in couple of weeks, so I am looking for some good series to watch. I like to watch basically all kinds, especially fantasy/adventure/comedy, but also love to watch drama and romance series.

I've already seen practically all of promoted or even slightly popular anime series, so I am looking for hidden gems such as Assatte no Houkou, Kurenai, Ergo Proxy, and etc. Those are solid anime series, although not so popular.

What I try to stay away from is series like Naruto, Inuyasha, Bleach, One Piece and D-Grayman since they have way too many fillers and the plot doesn't get anywhere.

Ghost in the Shell films and series , Magnetic Rose [from the Memories anthology] , The Running Man [from Neo Tokyo] , Serial Experiments Lain , Robot Carnival , et.al.

(I love Ergo Proxy and wish that there were more anime of this sublime and surreal quality . I think it was too esoteric for most .)
