Engine normally runs good but started to have a "hard" (cut out type) miss at mid to upper throtle range. Idles great...Almost like someone turning the coils off for a split second..motor just seems to cut off for a split second...cut out interval is about every 3-5 seconds....

  1. The first thing to do is check all the spark plugs, ensure that they are clean and the proper gap is set.

Then check for spark at each plug, the spark should be bright blue and should jump a gap of 1/4 of an inch.

Once you have found the plug that's not working, switch it with one that is.If the problem still exists with a plug that you know is good then replace that coil.

Now if the miss moves from cylinder to cylinder then you have a pack or trigger coil problem and that should be checked by a trained tec. since these parts are expensive and not returnable if you install them yourself.
