Looking for ideas for a 5 year old's surf-themed bedroom...?

I know this isn't really a parenting question but I thought I'd get better answers here. =] What color would you paint the walls for a surf-themed room? Right now they're tan- do you think that would look ok or be too boring? Any ideas on what to put in the room- decorations, bedding, furniture, etc. would be appreciated! Thanks!

Paint your wall sky blue, and paint waves in the wall. Don't leave the tan! That's boring! Stick a huge surfboard in the wall.

my mother always asks me for colors in new rooms so her here my thoughts!

*paint- an ocean blue. you might be able to first paint the walls white then sponge the blue paint on, just enough to cover most of the white but enough so you can still see the white for the contrast.

*decorations- a friend of mine had surfer decorations and what they did was.... the took tan colored grass skirts and cut the middle of it so they could stretch across and they used as curtains for the windows(my idea!). you could also buy a small surf bord/ or make one and hang it up on a wall. you could buy cheap flip flops from a cheap place and hang them around the ceiling to give it a beachy look.

Bedding- im sure you can find for any size bed a blue comforter for the colors. you might also find surfing sheets in discount stores, i know they have them where i live. if you can find them in stores im sure you can find them online.

furniture- for a head board for a bed. i saw at a furniture store bobs. they had white wooden head bords and you could see the wood lines in the paint. what you could do is buy just the head board. and you can paint or sponge them tan to match the grass skirts i said up above or blue to match the walls.

Others- you can also get the flowered print as a comforter. that print is very known for surfers.

you can also get fish and frog stuffed animals or pillows to throw on the bed.

tan is sand colored that would be fine but make the upper part blue for the ocean
