Yes, Cookie Monster decorations will be all over the place. We plan to have various types of cookies (chocolate chip, fortune?, etc.) and maybe some cookies and cream/chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. Perhaps one of those cookie cakes you see at the mall. Can anyone think of some more creative ways to implement cookies into the party without the kids getting sick of this food?

  1. That is an awesome idea! you could make a cookie pinata out of paper mache. and have a treasure hunt where you hide a bunch of plastic cookies. you could also play pin the chip on the cookie by having a large orange circle on a wall and then having the kids tape "chocolate chips" to it.

  2. :O You know pin the tail on the donkey??

Make a big cut out picture of "Cookie Monster" with his mouth open and the kids got to pin a cookie in his mouth!

:) You can make a game, by cutting out circles for cookies from bristol board, big enough for your child to stand in and play like a version of musical chairs, where they run around in a circle and when the music stops they have to find a cookie?

uhmmm what else...you can cut place-mats in the shape of cookies, and get them laminated? sorry that's all the ideas i have right now, if you e-mail me later i could maybe think of more if you like

    i hope i helped :)

  3. This made me think of some game ideas actually. For a cooking themed party awhile back, we made a bean bag of tan felt and sewed brown chocolate chip shapes on it. We used it to play Hot Potato. You could also paint some kind of cookie monster board with  a hole for the mouth and do a bean bag toss to feed him.

  4. What about having a cookie decorating station....Bake cutout cookies like people make for christmas. Then lay out a bunch of supplies on a table or counter and let the kids go through the line to decorate their cookies. You can colored frosting in these nifty little tubes and it squeezes out onto cookies and cakes. Also they make edible markers to write on baked goods with. Sprinkles are always a big hit. You could even melt chocolate in a bowl and throw some little paint brushes into it and let the kids paint on the cookies with chocolate.

  5. Omg, this is so cute!  I would have some healthy foods too and make them look like cookies.  Like round pizzas that the kids can put their own toppings on and decorate and then they can be baked.  Also, play some fun games that involve cookies somehow.  I don't think kids will ever get sick of cookies :)

  6. These ideas above are great, just keep it simple and toddler attention span ready. Maybe have blank aprons for them and have them draw pics on them to take home from party while they wait for fresh cookies.

Bean bag toss with toddlers is fun. red light, greenlight.. Bubbles, freeze tag. Parents will appreciate it if you tire them out after stocking them full of sugar. or limit to two cookies and then the rest go home.

  7. Check out cookie cookbooks from the library (in the 641's).  They've got fun cookie ideas.  You could make plain sugar cookies and let the little kids decorate them with different colors of frosting (just use white frosting and add food colors).   Messy but fun for them.  Or, for a break from actual cookies, you could make little english muffin "cookie" pizzas with pizza sauce, cheese,  pepperoni, etc. for more substantial food.
