  1. I'd make a booth talking about some of the problems related to agriculture today.  Land loss, high costs of production, government regulation and manipulation, and how it relates to the farm and farm familes.

  2. My class room did a display on the uses of cows for a local fair.  We won first place.  We decorated a sawhorse as a cow.  First we attached a wooden neck and head to the sawhorse.  This made the skeleton of the cow.  Then we voted on a theme.  We had to educate the public on the usefulness of cattle.  We got several ideas from the Cattlemen's association website.  One that we did not use was a firefighting theme.  Cattle graze grasslands thus reducing the fire hazards.  The theme we chose was a sports theme.  We gathered anything to do with sports that was made using a cattle product.  We decotated the booth using that theme along with labels of why cattle contribute to sports.  The sawhorse was decorated as a baseball player complete with leather cleats, cap and an authentic little league outfit. We stuffed his outfit with crumpled newspaper to fatten it up.   He held a bat wrapped in leather, a leather glove and a leather catcher's mask.  It was absolutely adorable, eye catching and educational.  Good luck.

  3. If your product is fruit make/sell ice-cream or pies or even candles/soap with fruit in them, and give out free recipes on how you made it. If your product is veggies you could make jewelry out of potatoes, which makes very nice necklaces and bracelets or make veggie juice. Whatever your product is you could make and give out free pamphlets to, explain how to grow your product organically, farm soil monitoring, or anything educational related to what you do.  Have family members that are knowledgeable about your product work the booth.

Good luck to you, hope you win.

  4. Here are some fun ideas but in the end, all depends on where your interests are. You might re-ask your question and add to it what you find the most interesting. Anyway, I tutored a student some years back and the idea we worked up won her second place in national competition. She was quite bright and her idea was great. She wanted to set up a small system to show fish farming and hydroponic food production with the waste water. She grew goldfish in breeding tanks and then with a closed system, recycled the nutrient water to grow lettuce. And all organically. She came to me because I had been developing an Aquaculture system that was organic that had a hydroponic system in tandem to produce a number of crops. The best of both world and organic too.

And speaking of hydroponics (idea #2), it comes to mind as one of the questions I answered just the other day revolving around hydroponics to produce dairy cow feed. A very inexpensive, organic product that will give a huge increase in milk fat content.

For more details if you have an interest, send me an email. Though these ideas are already out there, my work has been a bit guarded as all my research time has cost a lot so I like a bit of control of sorts. I have plans to market some ideas. I accept emails from this site.
