  1. I was always home along when I was that age and I enjoyed playing board games.

It wasn't much fun playing by myself, but I had some friends over and we had  a blast.

We also had water guns in the summertime and had a blast outside. We had all of the old school stuff like hoola hoops and chalk to keep us entertained, ha ha

  2. buy your child a leap frog game let him play it and let your 13 year old talk on the phone to her friends

    good luck!!!

  3. yea they could play board games, bake cupcakes, there are several  different types of crafts they could do ,you could get them some sorta of water toy small pool slip and slide  or one of those things that shoot water in the air, sign them up for all vacation bible schools happening in your area ,even if you dont got to church they turn no one away, see if you could set a play date  for both of them see if grandma, aunt, or friend will take a day to spend with them, you could download some educational  papers for them to do you could check with the local community center to see what they offer

  4. Homework, read, write. Oh, why don't you do this:

Set up some basic sentences on the fridge before you go to work and have your kids come up with an entire story. They don't have to write it down or anything, but they have to think about it and tell you about it when you get home. That way they'll spend at least a few minutes away from the TV.

So, for example, say you wrote on a post it "Make a story that  is set in a magical world with Giant Mushrooms and Purple grass" or "The story is about a girl who is really angry at her best friend and plans revenge on her, what could she do?"

Something silly that could go somewhere. Your thirteen year old might be a little annoyed, but maybe they'd like it.

Um, make sure they get outside and exercise? Ride their bikes...really, you have to be home to monitor, unless you cut off the cable and computer.

  5. Have them read. Set up a reward system based on the number of books they read. Many towns' libraries have a summer reading program; sign your kids up.

  6. Make them clean up their rooms

or make them decorate their rooms if their rooms are tidy

or ask the 13 yr old to make some drink for u as u'll be tired

  7. let them go to some sort of boys and girls club.

or you could tell them to clean the house =)

  8. im thirteen and have an 11 year old sister and an 8 year old brother when we are home alone I always plan little project with them or we bake stuff,if you feel comfortable about letting your 13 year old use the oven they both can help bake sugar cookies and decorate them. Or go to Target and buy a slip and slide they cant drown on that. What are there hobbies maybe you can buy them a wii that always keeps us busy.

    Home alone:

Read: Lots of local libraries have reading programs that give away prizes if you read a certain number of books

if your kids have talents have them plan a talent show it is what me and my brother and sister do we dress up,sing, dance I am 13 to so mostly I run it

Have an all day board game contest

    Grow a garden

    Write a story

    practice math,reading,writing

if your 13 year is responsible go to the park

have a camp out inside:pitch a tent tell scary stories, smores

train your dog: if you have one

as others said try a summer program like at a community center

    learn a musical instrument
