  1. Pictures of their kids, every parent loves to see their own kid displayed in the preschool, plus its cute to see them interacting with the other kids. Have it go around the edges and put all the info in the middle.

  2. I always get GREAT feedback from parents on bulletin boards that are interactive. Some examples are:

A beach theme with each child making their own beach ball at home with family members. The beach ball is then added to the bulletin board showcasing what that family did together :)

Ask the parents questions about their child's school. Title the bulletin board "Did you know?" Velcro the answers to the board so when they take it off and flip it over they can read more information.

Showcase a family of the month or a class of the month or grade level of the month. Parents love to see what other children at the school are doing, they get ideas on what they can do at home to entertain their kids.

Look for free activities that parents can take their kids to do during the summer. Have a map of your city up with things highlighted. Include index cards with a brief description and contact information so that parents can grab and go :)

  3. Get a piece of wallpaper and staple that to the board, a very eye catching color that will highlight the information as you post it.   The make sure each piece of information is also "backed" with another bright color, not just the white piece of paper.

  4. Have children draw pictures and decorate around the board with their pictures along with the information.  This shows the parents that the children have been involved and is child centered which lots of parents are looking for.  At the daycare I work in, as you enter, the whole part of the lower wall has pictures from all age groups (babies from after school aged kids) drawings.  The chalk boards that have parent information is on the upper half of the wall.

  5. A real, beautiful flower (not plastic) - eye catching, natural and research has shown that people who look at flowers feel a calm...

  6. ..............

  7. put a sign on top tats easy to read but eye catching, make everything is colored paper but make it pastels so its readable, also border it with some kind of border thing kn'noe
