Looking for ideas with recipes for a post prom party tomorrow?

My son is going to Prom followed by a post prom party at a friends. I offered to make a couple of appetizers or dips. Can anyone help with ideas along with some recipes please! Thanks!

  1. Definitely not anything messy!! (or dark, that will stain their formal clothes) ....

    PINK SHRIMP DIP

    6 oz. softened cream cheese

    1/3 c. mayonnaise

    3 TB. chili sauce

    2 tsp. lemon juice

    1/2 tsp. onion powder

    1/4 tsp. Worchestershire sauce

    1/2 lb. finely chopped cooked shrimp

           Mix all together well and chill  Serve with crackers and celery sticks to dip....

    Assorted fruit to dip:  (stir up either lemon, lime or orange yogurt and put it in a dish.  They'll never realize it's yogurt)

    Chex Mix ... Trail Mix  ... pretzels

  3. Pie: Bacon & Egg.

    2 Sheets of ready rolled puff pastry.

    8 Eggs.

    4 Slices of bacon.

    1 Onion.

    1-2 Tomatoes.

    ½ Cup peas.

    ¾ Cup of grated tasty cheese.

    Preheat oven to 180oC.

    Line a baking dish with one sheet of pastry.

    Layer the ingredients.

    First the onion and bacon on the bottom, then sprinkle peas, lay the sliced tomatoes. Crack the eggs into the pie one at a time (do not beat beforehand).

    And sprinkle with grated cheese.

    Cover with second sheet of pastry.

    Brush with milk and spike some holes in the pastry top.

    Bake in a moderate oven for 40 minutes.

    Allow to cool and cut into snack sized pieces 50mm x  75mm. Just divide up according to the dish size.

    Serve with Tomato sauce. (ketchup)

    Salmon Kebabs.

    3T Light Soy Sauce.

    ¼ C Mirin.

    ¼ C Chicken Stock.

    500g Salmon Fillets. (boned)

    Mix liquids together and simmer to reduce to a syrup. Set aside.

    Cut fillets into strips and thread onto skewers.

    Cook under grill or on the BBQ 1-2 minutes per side.

    Drizzle Kebabs with Teriyaki sauce.

    Sausage Rolls.

    Ingredients:

    1 kg sausage mince.

    1 Med. Onion chopped finely

    6 sheets of puff pastry1 packet of Continental Chicken Noodle Soup Mix 1 egg, lightly beaten (for brushing pastry)



    Method:

    Mix the mince, onion and soup mix together. Place a long 'sausage like' amount down the centre of 1/2 a sheet of pastry. Roll into a sausage roll and press pastry edges together. Cut into desired lengths.

    Place on oven tray and brush pastry with egg.

    Bake at 220ºC until pastry is crispy. Note. You can make any size or style of sausage roll.
