  1. I have no personal experience with them, nor am I very efficient googler on this... but I suppose a litmus test would be comparing the Evan B Donaldson Adoption Institute report with their policies.

I have to say it's refreshing to see no page on their website soliciting pregnant women for their babies though!

  2. I am an adoptive parent and I also happen to work for Catholic Charities, however, it's not in Buffalo. I would suggest this to you, as a worker for Catholic, it's my goal to make sure that every parent is treated with respect. Every branch office is different and each worker is different. I like to think that everyone is treated with the utmost respect. If you are a birth parent who has had their child taken into care and you are not being treated fairly and respectfully you need to speak up. Go to your worker's supervisor first. If that doesn't work go to the site supervisor. If that doesn't work let me know and I'll see if I can direct you further. If you are an adoptive parent and are having issues you need to do the same thing. Good luck!

  3. At any agengy assisting birthmothers and adoptive parents, both parties are expected to be treated with respect. Candor is VERY important in the relationship between them and the counselor. Borthparents are treated not with kid gloves, but the people handling us are very understanding of all kids of circumstances.

  4. I do not know this agency, but you may ask for references from people who have worked with them.  There are usually birthmothers and adoptive parents alike who are willing to share with others about their experience at a particular agency.

You can also look up the record with the agency through their licensing division.  See if there are any unfavorable reports from clients.  You can call the agency, and they will give you the licensing number to call.

    Good luck to you.
