Does anyone know of a reputable ski/snowboard equipment rental shop between Hunter Mountain and Kingston, NY? I found pleanty listed in the yellow pages, just looking for a place someone has actually used and been happy with, I'm guessing prices for rentals are basically the same from shop to shop in that area?

  1. they have a demo center at hunter. for $60 you can try out 3 different pairs of skis. tell'em you want to try the rc4's then keep them all day. they are the perfect highend ski for hunter mtn. Just go to the soloman(they also have fischer and atomics) demo center. It's also a great idea if you decide you want to try beating up a pair of twin-tips in the park.

they will also give you your money back at the end of the day if you decide you want to buy a pair of new skis from them

  2. Off the top of my head...Snow Bird comes to mind as a pretty good place. I think they have a few stores. I was in the Windham store last year and remember talking to the ski tech. He seemed to know his stuff. I think they also own the Village Ski Shop in Hunter. I remember seeing a lot of race equipment at one of the stores. That's usually a good sign they know what they are doing.
