John & Elizabeth Fitch were the grand parentsof Harriet Briddes. John was born in Scotland in 1837. Elizabeth (last name may be Bell) was born in Virginia in 1839. It is believed that Elizabeth's father was a doctor who freed his slaves before the Civil War and moved to New Jersey or Pennsylvania.In additiona to Harriet, John & Elizabeth, they had three other Children:
