How can someone like her get 5 years in prison and still be able to practice medicine, but half of the men were put to death?.

Was this another situation where people felt pity for her because she was a female?

I just have a hard time understanding this.

  1. Female criminals throughout history have been treated differently than men. n**i women were treated more favorably than the men due to the fact that women have always been given preferential treatment. Elizabeth Bathory from the Medieval times killed/had killed over 600 young girls so she could bathe in their blood and they locked her in her rooms and she died after four years. That was all they did to her after torturing all those girls and killing them. Lizzie Borden got off after hacking her father and stepmother to death because the men just could not believe a woman could commit crime like that. And on and on.

This is shocking, I never heard of this woman and the photos were horrifying, to think of the suffering is beyond the pale.

  2. The men weren't necessarily put to death. Many of them were smuggled out of the country and ended up in the US and South America. They likely would have gotten away with their crimes if n**i hunters hadn't tracked them down and brought them to justice years later.

  3. Women already gotten away with murder and served less prison time than men for the exact same crime, so this doesn't surprise me one bit,

  4. She was one of 10 who weren't executed, and the only female.  She worked as a doctor until recognised four years later.  Two of the male n**i Party doctors went on to be doctors after their release too, and remained so until their death.

Now, I just put her name in wikipedia and found that, so why not try that in future before saying "oh people felt sorry for her because she was a woman".  Irritates me that people will immediately make out that something is "positive discrimination" before looking at the whole picture.
