I was trying to find if there is a SPECIFIC disorder that one of the symptoms is repeating colors in the mind... example: driving down the road and in their head repeating gray, yellow, black, white, black, yellow, black, gray.

Reading on ADHD is mentions in a few places that one cause can be toxic exposure.

Is there a specific disorder and what toxic exposure are they refering to?

  1. OCD springs to mind: see O.C.D. (PAGE C). OCD QUIZ, and page H, then the rest of that section, if indicated, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris in section 7.

ADHD is addressed in sections 22 - 25. There is no harm in trying the "chlorella" detox, at www.mercola.com SEARCHBAR - chelation therapy for heavy metal toxicity.

  2. Doesn't sound like ADHD... that sounds more like Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.  There are quite a few variations.  One of them is repetition (or feeling that you need to repeat something over and over again).  Some of the other compulsions are counting, grouping items together by size, color etc., checking and double checking (i.e. making sure the door is locked or the oven is turned off several times before being satisfied),  obsessive washing, obsessive list making.  Many of these actions are not considered compulsions when they are practiced in every day life.  What makes something a compulsion is the feeling that NOT doing it creates.  If not repeating the colors in your head creates anxiety, fear, tension or uneasiness then you might want to further examine this disorder.  There are several test available online to help.  A google search will turn up several very helpful tests.  Fill one out, print it up and take it to your doctor.  It's easier than trying to explain.  This way he'll know what questions to ask and in turn what approach to take first.  Good Luck.

  3. 1) OCD (no specific variant)

    2) Heavy metal toxicity (specifically lead)
