Hmmm... When it comes time to tackle the Germanic part of the equation, i.e., Bechem, let us know.

There are no places by that name, however, there are several options found in two pre-WW1 gazetteers that could fill the bill.  

In the meantime, continue his US county&#039;s &amp;/or counties&#039; research, his naturalization &amp; immigration data (all documents associated therewith) research to ascertain his alleged place of origin.

Are you saying that Mary Zabel  married a Mr. Schreiner

and then married  Philip Schmidt, with whom she had daughter Jeanette Schmidt in 1891?  

Or did Mary Zabel marry Philip Schmidt, have daughter Jeanette Schmidt  and later marry a Mr. Schreiner?
