  1. Not to burst your bubble, but I somehow doubt any school is going to want to hire someone who doesn't already speak the language. This is not specific to France, by the way. The idea is to learn the language beforehand. Having said that, you can obtain the names and contact information of such schools by going to the French yellow pages website: http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/trouverlesprof...

Simply type ÉCOLES MATERNELLES where it says "Quoi, Qui", and ÉVRY where it says "Où". Good luck.

  2. Bubble bursting as well, I am sorry but you will never get a job. You need:

1- to speak the language, you cannot handle young children if you don't speak their language. And what would you do if you needed to call for help and didn't speak the language?

2- A French diploma of Assistante maternelle. The French don't leave their toddlers to someone who hasn't been trained for it. You also need a medical check up and up to date vaccines.

Edit : thanks, Choco, assistante maternelle if for the creches, I mixed up the two

Without a diploma and fluent French all you can get is a job as a cleaning woman.

  3. Bubble bursting #3 (sorry!)

First of all, does a visiting visa allow you to work legally? Make sure you have a work permit first if you are job hunting and learn French FIRST, not "once you get the job".

Second, I asked my aunt who teaches in France and it's not at all how it works. In order to teach in kindergarten (école maternelle in French), you must:

    1- be French

2- succeed at a national competitive exam (one-year preparation) open to holders of a French Bachelor's degree.

    3- do a one-year internship/training

so it woud take you 6 years total or at the very least 2 years if you had the equivalent of a French Bachelors' (and French citizenship). Then, the Dept of Education will appoint you to a school where a teacher is needed, you don't get to choose a specific school as teachers are not employed by schools in France but by the State.

There are no job interviews. Passing the exam guarantees you a job. If not, nothing. The number of people who pass depends on how many positions they have to fill that year. For instance if there are 1,000 candidates and only 300 positions, there will be a success rate of 30%, so you have to be among the best.

The "assistante maternelle" mentioned above is a  nanny, also called "nourrice". The profession must be regulated too, you can always look into it. Another option is to work in a day care (crèche) but I don't know what the requirements are. In any case, as said previously, you would need to master French to be in charge of young children.

Kindergartens and elementary schools also have foreign language programs where a native English speaker teaches a few hours a week (in the presence of the French teacher). You can ask schools info about it but let me be honest with you, if you don't have a standard British (or American) accent you don't have a chance. And your English must be perfect. For instance, the word "kinder garden" does not exist, it is either "kindergarten" in American English or "nursery school" in British English.

I wish you the best of luck but you won't have any luck if you are not realistic.

1- Check if you are allowed to work, if so, look for  job that is within your possibilities. If not, try to get the right type of visa or work permit.

    2- Learn French

3- If you really want to work with children and want to settle in France, you can always look into studying in France to become a teacher or day care assistant.

    Hope this helps...

EDIT: In short, David already answered your question. Otherwise here is a list here: http://www.essonne.fr/les_annuaires/annu...

And why do you keep asking the same question everywhere? Just because you ask a million times won't change the fact that a teaching position is not open to you as far as I understand your situation.
