Looking for more "mature" girl's movies?

Question

I'm having a sleepover with a couple of girlfriends and we'd like to watch some girl's movies.

However, I'm not a big fan of movies like "Mean Girls" or "Bring It On", I'm looking for movies more along the lines of:

Strike!

Now and Then

The Virgin Suicides

or something along those lines.

Any ideas?

"200 Cigarettes" was a great one.

other than that i can't think of "girls movies" just because i really understand what genre or sub-genre that's describing. to me a "girl movie" is a sappy love movie, but none of the movies you mentioned are romantic movies soooo lol

if it's sappy you're not minding but very "go girl!" oriented but with romantic and dramatic twists - "Things you can tell Just by looking at her" was great and so was "Playing by Heart"
