Looking for my first car! What should I buy?

I'm looking to buy my first car and something relatively cheap. I love the Mazda 3, but right now it's a little out of my price range. I've been looking at the Suzuki Swift, or the Pontiac Wave. Both cars look exactly alike. I can buy a 2004 Suzuki Swift for $7,900. Or a 2005 Pontiac Wave for $9,900. Which one should I go for? The Suzuki has 105,000 km. Is it true that these cars give you problems after a certain amount of km? Besides these two, are there any other cars that are cheap and reliable? Perhaps a Toyota Echo? It doesn't matter what make or model the car is, I'm just looking for something small to help me get around.

  1. small, economical fuel efficient, as well as least amount of trouble...utilize something similiar to consumer mag for reviews on test driving vehicles and how well the performed and feedbck from consumers who purchased and the actual problems experienced for maintenenace.

don't forget maintenenace that is usual the big bill..glp.

  2. i think you should get the worst car you can find and save your money!!!

  3. Well....if ur struggeling between the Suzi and the Pontiac i would Most Deff go for the Suzuki Swift. j*p cars have been doin well lately(besides the fact that GM is doin horrible) Its great in your price range and its a nice and small car that got big reviews.

No..cars do not go bad after certain mileage...a lot of people think that and then they buy newer cars...but this is just the Dealers way of making money...trust me..cuz my dad was in the bizz xD

Evenso...sometimes ur better of just looking on ebay or the papers...cuz my sister just got a full sized Station Wagon (Mercury Tracer) for just two grand :D all there was to it was to clean the things (stains) and fix the a/c and all she does with it is sit in ut by herself..(smal expensive car big cheap car  do the math xD)

Sometimes ur better of with that

    Best anwser??

  4. I don't know why you'd spend $8000+ on your first car..

Just buy a $3000 civic or something.

  5. A Suzuki or a Pontiac Wave

  6. I'd go with the Wave, because even though it is more expensive, it will last you a while and its better quality than the suzuki.

  7. This one's going cheap

  8. I think something like a Ford Escort or a Honda civic would be a great first car they get good mpg and are very dependable.

Owned an Escort LX, GT, and 2- ZX2's  LOVE these cars.

By the way none of these 4 i had broke down or anything i gave them to my brothers and sister for their first cars.

PS-Know the blue book value of any thing you buy and pay no more than that!!

  9. Wv golf, peugeot 307.

  10. don't even waste your money on the susuki or the pontiac, those brands suck.  I would keep saving up and get a decent toyota, nissan, or honda
