  1. I'm making fried chicken tonight so I'll share my recipe. I usually use flour, garlic salt, paprika, and Cheyenne pepper, I wash the chicken  and pat it dry with a paper towel and then dip it in the flour, salt, pepper, etc mixture and then I dip it into some buttermilk and then I dip it back into the flour mixture - the buttermilk helps the coating stick and makes it extra crunchy. Then it's ready to fry! Good luck!

  2. I soak mine in a salt water brine for about a hour before I coat it, drain it and pat it dry with paper towels.

in a another bowl mix a cuart of buttermilk with lots of pepper and some season salt.

bowl 2- flour and lots of seasoning, garlic powder, season salt, pepper,  & onion powder

I dip in buttermilk, flour, butter milk, & flour again, place on a lightly floured pan and let it rest for a few minutes before frying.

works best to fry in a cast Iorn skillet... Makes a nice thick crunchy coating over juicey moist chicken

  3. soak in butter milk then use flour/Cayenneper paprika, garlic salt and deep fry!

  4. ...Q..Looking for new ways to batter chicken....?

...A. You could speak softly and carry a big stick...

  5. First I would start an argument with it and after it back talked me I would grab it by it's scrawny lil neck and squeeze the dickens out of it then I would get me a baseball bat and make sure I taught that stupid chicken a lesson it'd never forget!

If it wasn't battered enough I would pitch it like a baseball out a fifteen story window after attaching a twenty pound weight to it and hopefully after it landed it would indeed be a well battered chicken.

And if it still wasn't battered enough I would then give it to a three year old child after handing the child a tonka hammer and let him pound it till the **** crowed trice.

Remember folks, like my momma always used to say "It's better to be deep fried than battered".

Best of wishes and good luck!

  6. I don't batter chicken for frying.  I bread it.  I sometime use a mixture of whole wheat bread crumbs and flour, or the bread crumbs and almond flour.  Or I just use the breadcrumbs.  I make my own, fine bread crumbs, so there's always lots of seasoning.  If using unseasoned breadcrumbs, add s&p, tarragon, basil and mix well.  Dip Chicken in egg (I even use egg beaters for dipping to keep it healthy), then into the bread crumbs.

I used to do it:  dip in egg, then in flour, back into the egg, then breadcrumbs.  But I've found just the crumbs (or crumbs mixed with a little reg. flour or even almond flour), after dipping in egg or Egg Beaters to work quite well. I like to keep even frying as healthy as possible, so a little less flour is a good thing.

  7. well as for the dry stuff i would use some salt pepper flour and a little corn meal, if your in the mood for something more fun add some corn flakes to it, or any kind of dry things you can think up really..

the wet stuff is what matters most.

eggs milk and add your spices to that.

i use a little hot sauce, not too much.

    garlic and whatever else.

its really delicious when the flavor is on the chicken and not just the batter.
