  1. yes bluntness is a strong part of our verbal  communication.

    There is an australian expression my music teacher said in high school to me it was - "don't pull the wool over my eyes "

    its a very oz thing to have said,and basically means don't try and talk c**p with me. Some older australians would have said "dont come the raw prawn".Basically all these things mean dont be a liar,dont be false,don't try and trick me, be blunt and true.

    Truth or bluntness is the main feature of our communication and my favourite thing about being Australian.


  2. Non verbal used to be two fingers pointed heavenward  which was a polite way of telling a person to go get  $%&#$%

    Now it's been simplified to just the one finger but the meaning hasn't changed !

    Verbal...there's no end to our imagination but most of it too crude to elaborate on here...suffice it to say Aussies  will never leave you  not knowing how you stand with them .

    We are not subtle ...but that's part of our charm I guess !
