Question:

Looking for "Distress, Urgency, Safety" Sound files?

Hello,

for a presentation covering the topic of "Search and Rescue", I am looking for sound files of urgent calls. Actual events or just example calls, it does not matter. I already found something on:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayday_(distress_signal)

unfortunately the transmission is not clear enough.

Thank you for any kind of help.

  1. You might be able to find that sort of thing on a website of a training type of association such as the Power and Sail Squadrons or Coast Guard.

The things you're looking for are:

    Securité, Securité, Securité (pronounced Secure-i-tay)

These are for safety notices to mariners of events that are currently happening and should be aware of

"Pan Pan", "Pan Pan", "Pan Pan" (pronounced Pawn Pawn)

A call for assistance if a vessel is incapacitated and no on on board is in immediate danger

"May Day", "May Day", "May Day"

An emergency call when a vessel or a person's life on board is in eminent danger.
