Looking for sewing patterns for clutches?

im looking for patterns for clutch purses. not small looking clutches but a pretty good sized one. i already went jo-anns fabrics and found nothing. are there sites of other stores to go to? how do designers make patterns to make these?

  2. There is a free pattern and instructions at http://www.kwiksew.com -- you could certainly enlarge it to whatever size suits. You'll want heavier interfacing for larger purses.

  3. They're very easy to make. All you need to do is draw a rectangle on a piece of paper, make sure it's even on all sides, then cut two pieces of fabric out of this, stitch your fabric on 3 sides then add your clasp frame if that's what you're using for the closure.

    As for looking in JoAnns...I don't think you were looking hard enough. I know for a fact they carry the supplies to make purses, handbags and clutches, they also carry the patterns. Simplicity and Vogue have patterns for purses, some of these patterns include a clutch. You have to look at the pattern books, not rotating stands they have on the floor, the Accessories are usually at the back of the books, you'll find the pattern and pattern number, then search through the bins they have below the counter all the pattern books are sitting on to find your pattern.
