Looking for something fun to do with my daughter

Something either indoors or out, that costs very little, if any, money.

I'm looking for new creative ideas. Last weekend we had a fashion show and slumber party that was a blast!! Do you have any ideas?

  1. Rent old Disney movies that she probably never saw before. Like things that came out before she was born. My son watched Aladdin, Lion King, and Toy Story and he said they were the best cartoons ever. You can do that on a sleepover too.

  2. Good for you for wanting to keep her busy during the summer!  I hope reading is a part of your daily routine--she is still young enough to be read to, and she will cherish that time for the rest of her life.

She is also the PERFECT age to learn about helping others.  I bet you could volunteer, maybe once or twice a week at a local non-profit.  Women's shelters, soup kitchens, church-run or civic food pantries all offer opportunities for helping out.

You would be doing a great thing for an appreciative organization, and teaching your daughter the important lesson of helping those in need.

    Please think about it!

  3. Well, it would help if you gave us an AGE of your daughter, dontcha think?

Since you said fashion show and slumber party.. I'll assume your daughter is between 8-14 yrs of age... So.....

    * Kids love to help bake/cook... stuff like cupcakes and such... then you could even do a bake sale afterwards

    * Make overs.. do each others hair and makeup

    * Lemonade stand.. You may actually even make money ;)

    * Hop-scotch is always fun.. or Jumping rope

    * Homeade jewelery (beads, braiding bracelets, etc)

  4. bake together.

  5. i know that kids love drawing on concrete with coloured chalk. its simple, cheap and you can do so many things. hopscotch, naughts and crosses, everything!!!  i find most kids love being able to scribble on the driveway :) hope i helped. oh, and you cant go wrong with a picnic or playhouses ( tents, blankets ect) outside either!
