or my simple favorite is brown the beef and drain  add a can of cream of mushroom soup and a small tub of sour cream.   cook.  I add extra mushrooms.    top over some egg noodles .  simple and real good.

    Best of Luck

  3. Mince

1 lb. Mince. (beef, pork etc)

    1 (10 oz.) can tomatoes

    2 (Med) carrots diced

    2 tbsp. butter

    1/8 tsp. pepper

    1/8 tsp. curry optional

    1 tsp. salt

    1 c. water

    1/4 c. chopped onion

    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Sautee beef in butter and break up with fork. Stir in onion, salt, pepper, and curry and fry until browned. Stir in remaining ingredients, cover and simmer.

You could add more frozen veggies.

When almost ready thicken with some cornflower as required.

    Serve with mashed potatoes.

Leftover mince served on toast is a great light meal for lunchtime.

Microwave the mince to reheat and make toast.

Serve with an egg on top. Optional.

  4. Try this simple Bolognese sauce for pasta:

    http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1835,150...

Also you could try a pot-pie or a shepherd's pie.

  5. Sloppy Joe.

  6. Try a crock pot hamburger surprise. Take 1lb of hamburger and make a big ball. throw in a crock pot with 1 cup of onions, Shredded cabbage (can be found in bags at produce dept) one can of cream of mushroom and 1/4 cup of water. Put in crock pot before you go to work set on low. When you come home 10 minutes before serving throw 1 cup of velveeta cheese and there you go. This goes great with minute rice.

  7. boil up a bag of noodles.. anykind.. elbow, macaroni.. whatever you have..

meanwhile.. fry up 2 cups of ground beef with a bit of onion and some garlic and a bit of chopped green bell pepper.. add salt, pepper, a dash of cumin and cinnamon ( if you have something like italian spices.. add that instead)

make a beshamel sauce (its easy, dont sweat it)..

2 tabespoons of regular all purpose flour

    2 cups of milk

    2 tablespoons of butter/margarine

melt butter in sauce pan, sprinkle flour over butter, stir a bit in pan (it might look lumpy, its ok.. then taking a fork, gradually start pouring in milk.. in a small stream. and whisking the flour into the milk quickly till it becomes pasty, then continue to pour and whisk till all milk and flour is incorporated,, then stir until it becomes thick.. add salt and pepper to taste.. (this is all it is to the beshamel sauce, basically its a white gravy)

then grate 1 cup of either mozarella or chedder cheese..

in a casserole dish.. layer half macaroni.  1/2 sauce, all meat.. 1/2 cheese.. then layer remaining noodles/macacroni... and remaining sauce.. then sprinkle remaining cheese on top.. sprinkle with a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg... bake in 350F oven till browned on top.. about 25 minutes...   easy baked pasta...

you can do many things with this also.. you can add ketchup to the meat to make it saucier.. you can add mushrooms to the beshamel sauce.. you can add a layer of fried zuccini on top of the meat.. jsut experiment..

  8. Tamale Pie

    Serves 6 to 8.

    4. Grease a 3-quart baking dish, then layer with about 1/2 of the mush; spreading it on the bottom and partially up the sides of the dish, using the back of a tablespoon.

    5. Add the meat filling and top with dollops of the mush, spreading to cover most of the top. Sprinkle with cheese.

    -------------------------------------

    Meatloaf Muffins w/ BBQ Sauce

    1 2/3 to 1 3/4 pounds ground sirloin

1 medium onion, cut into chunks

2 ribs celery from the heart of the stalk, cut into 2-inch pieces

    1 green bell pepper

1 large egg plus a splash of milk, beaten

    1 cup plain bread crumbs

2 tablespoons grill seasoning (recommended: Montreal Steak Seasoning by McCormick)

    1 cup smoky barbecue sauce

    1/2 cup tomato salsa

    1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Vegetable oil or extra-virgin olive oil

Preheat oven to 450ºF. Put ground beef into a big bowl. Put onion and celery into a food processor. Cut the bell pepper in half, rip out the seeds and throw them into your garbage bowl. Cut the pepper into a few pieces and add to the food processor. Pulse the processor blades to finely chop the vegetables into very small pieces then add them to the meat bowl. Add egg, beaten with milk, bread crumbs and grill seasoning to the bowl. Next, mix together the smoky barbecue sauce, the salsa and the Worcestershire sauce. Pour half the sauce mixture into the bowl with the meatloaf mix. Mix the meatloaf together with your hands. Wash up. Brush a 12-muffin tin (1/2-cup each) with vegetable oil or extra-virgin olive oil, including top surface. Use an ice cream scoop to help you fill meat into a each tin. Top each meat loaf with a spoonful of extra sauce. Bake about 20 minutes. Cut open 1 muffin to test that the middle is cooked through. While meatloaf muffins bake, make green beans in the microwave. Serve meatloaf with Smashed Potatoes and Cream Cheese on the side, too.

  18. Whoever makes tacos with ground beef, consider your taco-making rights to be taken away. That is the most disgusting, half-assed method of making tacos. We're talking border-line taco bell here. Sorry, had to get that off my chest, here's a recipe you may consider...

    Beef and Cheese Pie

    1.25 lb ground beef

.25 ea chopped green bell pepper

1 cup 8 oz. cut green beans

1cup 8 oz. can crescent rolls

    2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

    1/3 tablespoon cinnamon

1 cup 8 oz. tomato sauce and mushrooms

    .25 teaspoon garlic salt

    1 ea Egg (slightly beaten)

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    2. Fry ground beef, onion and green bell pepper in a large frying pan. Drain fat. Stir in tomato sauce, beans, and seasoning. Simmer while preparing crust.

    3. Separate crescent rolls into 8 triangles.

    4. Place in an ungreased 9" pie pan. Press bottom and sides to form a crust.

    5. Combine egg and 1 cup cheese. Spread over crust, evenly.

    6. Spoon hot meat mixture into crust. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Serves 6.

  19. Meat Loaf. Make a double amount and freeze it. If it's not all eaten at one sitting, sandwiches are good the next day or two.

  20. TACOS...mmmm. All you need besides the beef is the seasoning you add to it then the shells to put it in. It's very easy to make!!
