  1. I am assuming that you are living in the same place that she was. If so , you should rearrange the furniture and make it yours. Get rid of the things that remind you of her! This is your first step to independence. Eat the foods you love and watch the movie you like and do whatever you want!

  2. -Always look at super market circulars before going shopping.

-Only buy food that is on sale.

-PBJ (store bread in fridge) soups, crackers

    -Buy store brand items.

-You can't or shouldn't buy anything that you have to "make."

-Don't wash clothes weekly, you'll only need to wash clothes (one or two loads) every six weeks or more and do it at a laundromat on your way to the grocery store.

-Maccaroni and cheese, spaghetti, ravioli, salads, fruits, vegetables are all inexpensive.

-You can substitute some of the eating with vitamins.

-Feed yourself on less than $3 a day, and no restaurant eating unless you are patting yourself on the back for a job well done.

-The vaccuum sealer did wonders for me when I lived alone. Food would stay fresh for close to a week longer, months if i froze it. It was 100 investment, but paid off dividends in the long run.

-Cell phone. Drop the monthly plan. Get a pre-paid one. Instead of spending $59 a month, I now spend $100 a year. It has caller ID, I will call you back from the nearest land line.

-Cut out non essential coffee and bottled water.  Never buy them.

    - Internet. Shop around and get the best deal. | Or find somewhere to get it free or steal it from.

-Before you decide to purchase something that is not absolutely essential ask your self this: "How many hours will I have to work to afford this?" Consider your answer seriously before the purse comes out.

-Make your own soups and salads.

-Do not drink anything but filtered water.

    -Shop at thrift stores.

    -Cut your own hair.

-NEVER buy food from the convenience store.
