What I'm looking for....

- Under 30"

- Full HD

- Not stupidly expensive

I've been googling for many an hour now and am beginning to think that a Full HD TV under 37" doesn't exist. I know all the to's and fro's re Full Hd on small screens not being worth it but am unfortunately browsing on behalf of a very picky person! And sadly changing the shape of the house is impossible so it kinda has to be small.

Anyone know of any?

Much appreciated.

  1. presuming you are in the UK, Makro has an offer staring the 18th of june for an Akura 22" hd ready (1680x1050) lcd for £199.99+vat (£234.99).

this also includes built in free view and a built in DVD player.

it has both a scart socket and an HDMI socket so it would suit your puposes.

Then again if your friend realy wanys a good quality small screen why not but a cable converter to link the ps3 to a pc monitor as they are relativley cheap, are aimed at the gaming end of the market and tend to have a very good resolution.

My son has done the latter with his xbox360 and the image is superb!

  2. By "full HD" are you referring to 1080p?  For sets under 30" (or even 40"-50") there's almost no point in getting a 1080p set.  You just won't see the difference for TV and games.

Furthermore, most PS3 games and HDTV programs are only 720p anyways, so you're not really missing anything by sticking with that.

But if you really want it, you can get a Sharp Aquos 32" screen for about $1000.  It does do 1080p and is very very pretty.  Also very very expensive.

That's about the smallest 1080p screen I've seen.  Should fulfill your picky friend's needs too.

  3. Is true there is no 1080p under 30" inches. Why? because there is less pixels which means no one will tell the difference between a 19inch 1080p and a 19inch 720p, the screen is just too small for such a thing, although I did my browsing and found a 32inch 1080p from Philips. The bad news is that they only sell it in the U.K. There might be a way to get shipped over here. True a PS3 was meant to be play/watched on a 1080p TV.
