It's leaves look similar to an Ash. It doesn't seem to produce flowers. And it's fruit is double winged and green. So, I don't think it is the tree of heaven or sumac. And it is everywhere, in every hedge, garden, roadside and have looked on internet and in books.

  1. This sounds like field maple. A very common shrub/tree in hedgerows and grows in light woods as a mature tree up to 30 feet.

check this image - with some juicy blackberries. http://www.millfarmtrees.co.uk/images/ph...

Or google image 'field maple' for more examples

  2. i don't know for sure but perhaps it could be a type of Dogwood

  3. I don't think of these  being similar to an ash, but what comes to mind are tree-of-heaven (Ailanthus altissima) or a sumac (not really an "invasive", but it can grow that way at the edge of openings).

ADDED:  Tree of heaven produces a winged fruit (dry one shown):  http://plants.usda.gov/java/nameSearch?k...   and the flowers shown in a different photo in the same link are inconspicuous.   If this is smaller, like a shrub, it might be Euonymus (burning bush): http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symb...  , http://www.hsu.edu/default.aspx?id=6377 which is also invasive.

  4. Acer negundo  Boxelder  Ash-leaved Maple
