Well it is not actually me looking for a car, i am searching for a car for my mom. she needs something that gets about 25-30 miles per gallon, also it has to have at least 5 seats in it (as she has 7 kids, but not all of them will be needing a ride all the time.) it also wouldn't hurt to have a some cargo space. she is looking for something used but not to old (2000+), and her budget is about $7000. any details would be greatly appreciated.

  1. your mpg, budget and 7 passengers do not exist.

    30 mpg = Honda Fit

    25 mpg = Nissan Altima $10 to $12,000

    20 mpg = Honda Element 04 ,

    Toyota Highlander 03$10 to $12K

you'll have to spend more money or accept a lower mpg.

so assuming it's easier to accept less mpg. vehicles that hold 7..

    Ford Expedition 2WD 02

Ford Taurus sedan 04 (bench seat)

    Hyundai Santa Fe V6 02

    Lincoln

    Continental 02

    Navigator 98

    Town Car 00

    if your only carry 5

    Ford Crown Vic 02-03

    Buick Century 03-04

    Honda CRV 00-01

    Hyundai Elantra 04

  2. Look for an older model Solara

  3. ABOUT THE ONLY ONE WITH THAT KIND OF ROOM IS A MINI VAN . AND SOME WILL GET 25 + M.P.G.

  4. Look at pre-owned Buick's or Chevy Impala's. You can find both in 6 passenger seating configurations. I'd personally recommend getting a Buick with 3800 series V6 in it. You can get MPG into the 30+ range on the highway. The Impala with the 3800 V6 only comes in 5 passenger seating configuration. (and ask any mechanic, the 3.8 V6 is bullet proof)

  5. You can get a 2000-2002 Honda Civic for $7,000. It gets about 29city/36hwy mpg. About 32mpg average for most drivers. Which sounds like a good fit for your mom. The sedan has 5 seats and plenty of room in the trunk too. It makes for a really reliable car, and its safe, which i am sure is a great thing when you may have 4 children in the car with her. You should try taking a look at that and see if its something your mom likes. If not maybe go look at the older Corollas and see if she likes those instead, but for the money, i would say a civic has the most room while still being safe and getting over 30mpg.

I know many people who have one and have taken them past 250,000 miles. I saw 2 of them at a car dealer not long ago that the dealer had bought from auction, ran perfectly fine and everything and both had over 300,000 miles.
