Looking for trendy 2008 model of smartphones WIFI compulsory that can run skype.?

Question

I need to be able to connect to skype on any wifi network such as my home wlan or any hotspot with the phone.

The skype application should be network independent also. It will just need internet connection similar to how it works on a pc.
