  1. You should check your local fishing regulations concerning turtles. Some of them are endangered and protected...

I catch alot of turtles by accident mostly softshells, I usually catch'em when I'm trying to get catfish.... Small fish heads, and cut bait like the side of a bluegill work well... Again check your local fishing regs... Some people can legally use bluegill parts and some can't.

Turtles like the same food as catfish, but they don't like soap.

Try to know what kinds of turtles you will be going after or at least what might be in your local area and do be careful handling them... If you get a hold a a snapping turtle and don't know it... More than likely you'll lose a finger or two... No joke.

  2. Didn't you already ask this question like yesterday? Same wording and everything. I just wait for them to come to me. They like to investigate things so if it sees you it will come close. When it goes under go in the water slowly and when it gets close grab it. Simple as that. Good luck!

  3. you should use a cast nest

  4. once in my pond i caught a turtle on a fishing line but the best way is a turtle trap check your local laws on trapping though
