Im 18 and just graduated high school. I was accepted into WWU, but have decided not to go right now, because of the money and not really having any idea of what i would study. It is just to great of a financial risk for me right now.

Im looking at the coast guard at an alternate to college, but would like some suggestions for other possibilities for jobs that would let me support myself. I am very responsible and have good references including kitsap county public works. Any suggestions?

  1. Vo tech.

You can learn a trade and when the teacher sees you are doing well he will send you out on jobs with pros.

They will sometimes call the schools and ask for some help. He will only send out the best.

  2. Go to college.  You don't need to know what you want to do because a four year degree doesn't cut it anymore.  Take student loans, major in whatever.  After you graduate in four years, you will know what you want to do and then get a masters in that.  Trust me.  I did what you are talking about now and not only was in really, really hard to go back to school, but the financial aspect only gets harder with time.  Take a lot of different classes your first couple years and I promise you will find something you like.  DONT GO TO WORK.  It's the worst decision I have ever made.
