Looking funny?

My MIL called me, and asked if she could wear a dress to my wedding that is very similar to the bridesmaids' dresses. I said it would look fine since it won't be the same style and cut. Would this look weird?

It'll probably be fine.  And if you don't care, why should anyone else-- it's YOUR wedding!  Be thankful that your MIL called and asked, and didn't just show up wearing something outlandish....lol

How is it very similiar to the bridesmaid dresses if its not the same color and cut? Sorry, I'm confused. Does that mean its the same color as the maids dresses? If so, that would be fine. You would all match. I have seen that done many times.

I wouldn't worry about it.  No one else will even notice.  That was really nice of her to ask what you thought instead of just doing it.

You are lucky to have a MIL that has asked you if you will say it is o.k. to wear the dress she has.  It will look just fine and she will feel a lot more like she is part of the wedding anyway.

I think you have found a nice MIL and that you will have a happy life ahead because of this decision.  Have a great wedding day.

I think it was very sweet of your MIL to ask! And as for it looking funny... if it don't bother you, I don't see why anyone would care.
