Question:

Looking to Amend a Master Deed

by  |  earlier

0 LIKES UnLike

We are a three unit condo association looking to amend the master deed so that all of the units have access to a garden that currently is exclusive to only one unit. Can we draw up an amendment ourselves and sign it or do we have to hire a lawyer for such a small thing? Specific info will be helpful. Thanks!

  1. No lawyer needed if any stranger could look at your "amendment" and understand exactly what you are trying to do.   Clarity is your goal.  Have 10 friends look at it and ask them to tell you what you are doing.  If it comes back to you all garbled, you need to do a better job. Get to work. Then pay $10 at the Recorder's Office. /

  2. You'd better use a lawyer to ensure that it is done correctly and property filed.
