  1. It depends on what you consider as reasonably priced. We have a Central Boiler wood burner that is worth every penny we paid for it. But compared to other wood burners, it was extremely expensive ($10,000.) In the amount of energy we save, we will have paid it back in 5-10 years. The reason why it's worth what it is is because of the lack of manpower it takes to run it. Most burners we've had in the past must be cared for at least 2-3 times in a day. Everything about it has to be moved and adjusted to optimize burn times and heat output. It was too confusing for me, so my hubby had to do it all. Our new one we only take care of (fill it) once a day on the coldest days and once every 2 -3 days on warmer days. It also heats our hot water heater. Everything gross about a wood burner is outside (ashes, wood, flame, smoke). I can actually manage this one. It is safe to run and is the best wood burner we ever had.

This same company also builds multi-fuel burners also that are very similar to our burner. I highly recommend checking them out. We are very fortunate in finding a dealer just 3 miles from our house.
