  1. Check eBay.com or your local classifieds in the newspaper

  2. Hope you have a few acres of land for the panels if thats all you think you need. And they do not work in the dark .The panels themselves do not store the power, it is stored in batteries and transformed into ac via an inverter. It is amazing what happens when you type in solar panels under google.

  3. A typical 130 watt solar panel is about $700.  My 15cu freezer draws 175 watt, and, runs about 20-30 minutes each hour.  You would need a minium of three panels - five would be better - to make this work since solar panels do not work at night, dusk, dawn, work less on a cloudy day or when not directly pointed at the sun.  And you always loose power going from panel to battery to inverter.  You also need a solar charger ($200) to use the power to charge batteries ($400+) with enough power to operate the inverter ($400 to $1400) that produces the ac voltage to run your freezer.

It Is expensive - but - you may be able to take a tax credit, and, the equipment will pay for itself in about 12-14 years.  Fewer years at the rate oil is costing these days!
