Question:

Looking to buy a women's bicycle?

I have been checking out some women's bicycles on-line. I am interested in having a bike like the Electra Townie. I only want to have the bike to just cruise around town, which has very little hills. What speed should I get? As nice as the Electra Townie bikes are, is there another bike out there pretty close to it but not as expensive? I don't really want to drop 500 dollars right now on a bike. As long as it is comfortable to cruise on during a lazy sunday afternoon, thats all i want. Any help/advice is appreciated!!

  1. Don't buy an Electra. The frame design will beat you up on the road, and it does not come with good extra features. The Breezer Freedom retails very low, and the frame design is very nice, perfect peddling position. For this price you will get a bike that is ready when you are, with battery-free lights, fenders, a rack, a kickstand, chaincase, and lots more. It has a very stylish step-through U-frame design, and I love mine. This is the company that started the Town Bike revolution for everyday riding in America. Take one for a test ride and you will see what I mean.

  2. I just got the 2008 Marin Redwood from Sun and Ski Sports.  Try googling it.  I love my bike, it's great!  The guy at the store told me it's a great bike and very popular.  The tires are great, they are for street and trail.  I do not live in a hilly place either.

  3. Get the Electra Townie. The Electra Townie might be called "semi-recumbent" because the seat is low. You can put both feet on the ground, which is helpful when you stop at an intersection.

The only other bicycle that is semi-recumbent (that I can think of at the moment) is the Rans Fusion.

But the Rans lacks the stylish looks of the Townie, and it doesn't cost much less.
