  1. this problem rarely happens now as microsoft has made several changes to the 360s internal hardware.

just keep it well vented and you shouldn't have any problems.

  2. I think they fixed it. if you buy a new console it shouldn't happen. Plus microsoft have extended the warranty to 3 years!

  3. well if it breaks microsoft will replace or fix it free of charge and the number of errors has been minimissed and xbox live is so much fun you will never get bored of it its money well spent rather than getting a ps3 that costs more money and is no where near as fun

  4. I don't think that would happen now cause microsoft has already addressed that problem. I have been using mine for sometime now and I have not experienced any such problem yet. Just remember, keep it ventilated and cool and just don't change its position to horizontal once you've kept it vertical without taking out the game dvd.

P.S. Read the instruction manual thoroughly, it'll guide you how to maintain your xbox. And remember not to change its positions from horizontal to vertical or vice-versa while the game dvd is in the dvd drive.

you may change its positions after taking out the dvd.

    Hope this helps. Happy gaming:-)

  5. i've had the ring of death and i recomend that you buy a cooler for it if you live in a hot climate .

  6. you mean the red ring of death,,,the cpu frying,i have x360 and not happened to me..i think if you get the elite model it is less likely plus you get a hdmi port for connection to hd tvs and i pretty sure microsoft will warrant your xbox for at least 3 years..
