Looking to buy my first car.. theres a guy selling a 1990 honda accord EX with 400,000KMS (not miles) for $500

its 500$ CDN. it has timing belt recently done. its 5spd. how long will it last me. will it give problems? i figure its better then getting a ford focus or a neon..

  1. If you take good care of this car, it should give you enuff time to do some decent car shopping and be very useful as a trade later to either lower or eliminate the down payment at that time. Have your mechanic take a look at this car.     {JOLLY GOOD??}     GOOD LUCK!!

  2. Anytime you buy a car and you don't know the history of it you should take it to a mechanic for a full compression check and electrical check. They can tell if the car has been monkeyed with when it comes to the wiring and if the engine is going to die soon...

    Otherwise if you can feel the car when driving that it feels tight and has power then I would consider it. It is only $500.00 and if it dies you can always part it out...Honda seem to hold some value on parts no matter how old they become....
