Looking to complete a goal.....need help?

Question

One of my goals is to take seat on a local community executive board, such as a local credit union board, or some foundation board at the community hospital, or a charitable board. What do you have to do in order to asked to be part of one of these organizations?

Take a volunteer position with a foundation or community hospital that allows you to illustrate your decision making abilities.If in time you show sound reasoning, opportunity's will start to open up for you.

Start with your homeowner's association.  It is extremely hard and will take years to get on the local boards of those companies.  You usually have to be a huge contributor.  To a Homeowner's association, you just need to be a resident in the community.  Also, remember the water districts, drainage district, Chamber of Commerce, etc.
