We will be married in October and we want to start trying right away. Before judgement is laid down we have been together for over 6 years and are completely ready. So anyway, what are some suggestions others might have? Should I take prenatal vitamins? Any helpful tips for conceiving or health? BTW I am seeing an ob gyn in early Sept.

  1. Start taking prenatal vitamins now. Increase the amount of protein you are eating. Reduce stress and begin daily gentle exercise. If you have had years of contraception use, take a look at drinking a cup a day of red raspberry leaf tea as this can boost your reproductive system. You can also drink a health juice called, "Youth Juice" which includes a high mineral content and red raspberry leaf. All of this will lead your body to believe that there is abundance in your environment and plenty of materials from which to build.

For conception, start sexual intimacy during or directly after your period and continue every three or four days throughout the month. Sperm can live quite happily for up to five days within you. This way the sperm are already waiting when you release your egg. This method is more fun than having to chart, take temps, etc. and increases your chances of conception in case you release your egg shortly after your period. in mid cycle or towards the end of your cycle. Make use of the pre-ejaculate in your intimacy as this contains the most potent sperm. Congrats on the marriage and best wishes, G

  2. Well I got married last october and my husband and I have been ttc since June. I went to my OB before hand since I am overweight and talked about what risks there are and what I can do to help prevent complications. She advised that I get my PCOS undercontrol. And begin taking a prenatal vitamin everyday. Start watching what I'm eating and get exercise at least 3 times a week. Drink water... Its good for you.

Good Luck and *Baby Dust to you*

  3. Try to be in good health before you start, don't smoke or drink while you are trying.  Your man shouldn't either because it will lower his sperm count.  Try not to stress about it too much because that takes all of the fun out of it and know that it will probably take some time.  Most couple try for like 6 months to a year before they get pregnant.

For my husband and I, we got pregant when we least expected it.  We had tried for a year and had no luck then one month when it was particularly crazy and busy with other things, all of the sudden I was pregnant!  Good luck and give it time.

  4. Start prenatals now, get your body the vitamins it needs early for a healthy pregnancy,  and start having OJ every morning for folic acid. Make sure you space these out though...about a half an hour in between.

If you don't have one, find and OB/GYN that you trust an that you like, you'll be spending a lot of time in the office, and you'll want someone sympathetic when/if you call with every little worry.

Start eating healthier if you don't already, and if you need to try to loose some excess weight now. Get into an exercise routine that you can try to keep up with during pregnancy. (walking, yoga, things like that)

    Most of all....DON"T STRESS! 8 0 )

My hubby and I started to try 2 months after we got married last year and succeeded first try.

Oh yeah.. I used ww.babycenter.com to track my ovulation and then had s*x every other day and the day of my most fertile day then stopped. Don't use lubricants, except for pre-seed. We used water and it was just fie. Then after s*x, lie there and elevate your pelvis for about 20 minutes after to help the sperm swim down. I didn't use anything too dractic right away (pre-seed for example, a special TTC lubricant that doesn't affect sperm count, or the basal thermometer..)

Try naturally for a couple months first, not everyone needs all the tools they sell.

Congrats on the wedding and good luck in your TTC journey!

  5. Taking prenatal vitamins is a good start. Also if you smoke try to either cut back or stop completely. Eat healthy. Goodluck.

  6. they usually to start taking prenatal vitamins a couples months before you start trying to conceive.  I would recommend you a ovulation kits, those works very good and a lot of baby dust!!!

After intercourse try to lie down with a pillow under your bun for 15-30 mnts that would help the sperms to move up. GOOD LUCK!!

Ohh yeah eat healthy, dont drink to much caffeine and try to exercise at least 20 mnts 3 days a week

  7. seeing a obgyn is a good start, as far as prenatal vitamins start having folic acid straight away very beneficial pre pregnancy and 1st few months

  8. I would suggest buying a basil thermometer and start using it now.  You take your temperature at the same time every morning before you get out of bed.  It is easy to use and is cheap ($10) or less.  It will tell you when you ovulate.  It took me 9 months to get pregnant with our first because I ovulated on day 11 (first day of period being day 1.)  It could have saved us a lot of time.  My second was conceived the second time, and our third and fourth the first time (and I was 35 when I conceived baby #4.)  Also, sperm count is higher in the morning.  Hubby can also wear boxer, it keeps his testicles further away from his body, producing more, healthier sperm.  Congratulations on your wedding and upcoming pregnancy.  What a great time in your life.
