Hi, im thinking of coming to A Coruna in order to look for a very close friend who i lost touch with since this person and there family moved to Coruna from the U.K. I know my friend was setting up a clothes store in the city centre, i just wanted to ask anyone who may currently live in Coruna if you think it would be possibile to find my friend if i where to come to Coruna for a few days. I know finding there home would be very difficult so there would be no point trying to do that. But I thought it may be more possible to find the shop my freind had opened in the city centre. Is the city centre very big? would it be possible to find my friend in such a way?

Hopefully someone can help me or give some advice as i'd really appreceate it. Thankyou.

  1. Take heart, it may not be as hard as you think.

I have a similar story.  Ok, Here´s what happened in my world.

I lived in Sevilla for a year, many years ago.  I finally got the money and time, and my husband´s vacation all to coordinate and we went last Spring, stopping in Sevilla for a week.  I spent a great deal of time on the internet, trying to locate a couple of people that I thought might still be there.  The director of the University program I had gone on was the best bet, and, while I found a couple of articles online that she had written, I couldn´t find any contact info., and she was married when I knew her, so I assumed, naturally, that she would be listed under her husband´s name.  Her brother had taken over the job she used to hold, so I started at the University, asking after him, but as students were done with classes, he was on his vacation.  I thought all was lost, but there was a telephone guide in the office of the gentleman who was trying to help my track him down, so, on a lark I checked her last name, and, lo and behold, there she was, we got together and had dinner a couple of times, her child was the same age as mine, and we had the BEST time!

Moral of the story:  it may be a lot easier than you think.  Just look up their name in the phone book.

You can try an online search, but that doesn't always turn up much.

    Good luck!

  2. hello

im Spanish and i have been to La Coruña many times because i have friends there.

La Coruña is not very big, it has about 240 000 inh. if you don´t know the name of your friend´s shop, you can look for the phonenumber in a spanish phonebook of La Coruña.

i can tell you the main streets where there are plenty of shops:

Calle Nova, Calle Olmos, Calle Riego, Calle Real these streets are round the same area.

    Calle Barcelona

    Calle San Andrés

    Calle Juana de Vega

    Calle Juan Flórez

    Calle Ramón y Cajal

    Plaza Cuatro Caminos

These are the streets placed around city centre which have an important number of shops...

Then you have the "old city" which also have some shops.

i dont know if this can help you, but i can´t tell you more if you don´t know the name of the street or the shop...

    good luck
