Are bundle packages a good deal? We know nothing about this system, so any input would be great. Thanks so much!

  1. Go to stores and ask around.  Your best bet is to go to a Gamestop or EB Games; they may be able to clue you in when a shipment will arrive.  Also a lot of stores put up their new stock on Sundays, so try looking around on a Sunday morning (places like Target, etc.).  You can try online, but they sell out quick.  See the link below.

The base Wii package is $249.99.  You don't have to buy anything additional, as it comes with everything you need to play:  the system, 1 WiiMote and Nunchuk attachment (for 1-player), and WiiSports game.  You may want to buy another WiiMote and Nunchuk for a 2nd player.  Wii supports up to 4 players.  Unless you really want all of the games that come in the bundle, I would not suggest buying one.

  2. Just some advice on buying it.

Yes, it's usually sold out.  But if you're not willing to go to ebay, do what most people do and call the store beforehand, then come to the store in the morning before it opens.

If you really want a wii, that's the easiest way to go, unless you're extremely lucky and you find it by randomly visiting a store.  Which is very unlikely.

  3. I didn't like any of the bundle packages.  They seem to always come bundled with at least one thing no one wants!

Call around to your local wal mart, sam's club, best buy, and game crazy to see if it's in stock.  I'm a big fan of my local game crazy:  I made nice with the employees, so they gave me a call when "my" wii came in!  This was back in November, when pre-christmas Wiis were going for several times their retail price on ebay and people were buying them whether they wanted one or not!

The huge bonus of buying at a game crazy is that you get 12 free game rental coupons from Hollywood Video when you purchase it there.  At $8/rental, that's huge!

  4. When you buy the actual wii, you will recieve everything you need to start playing with at least 1 player.

    You will receive -

    - The wii

    - 1 wii remote

    - 1 nun chuck

    - Wii sports game disc

    - Sensor bar, power cable and audio and video cable.

    - 1 wii stand to put your wii on.

    - 1 wii jacket

To have 2 people able to play at the same time, you will need to buy another wii remote. If you want to play games like 2 player boxing, you will also need to buy another nunchuck.

Wii sports is a partial multiplayer game. You can play multiplayer on all the games but soe of them can be played multiplayer with only 1 remote.

Bowling - 1-4 players. Up to 4 people can play with one remote

Boxing - 1-2 players. You need 1 remote and one nunchuck for each person.

    Tennis - 1- 4 players - each player needs 1 remote.

Baseball - 1- 2 players. Each Player needs 1 remote.

Golf - 1-4 players. You can play with 4 players on one remote.

So that is what you get with your standard wii package that you get in a retail store.

I hope this helps and good luck finding your wii!

  5. First off, if you are a novice gamer, the Wii is a good system. Otherwise I would go with a 360 or PS3.

Getting one could be very difficult. As they are usually sold out, and sell out quickly still when stores do get them in. They cost $250 in store. So if you buy one off Ebay or such, keep that in mind.

Like one person already said, it comes with one Main contorller (Wiimote), a directional controller (Nunchuk) and a game (Wii Sports). Which is a collection of mini games in the fields of baseball, boxing, golf, bowling and tennis.

Bundles only make sense, if you want the extra stuff that comes with it.

Things to think about are how many people are going to play on it mostly, at the same time. And what kind of games you might like. Check the upper left hand corner of the games you decide to buy with it. It will show how many people can play the game and what kind of controllers the games use. Based on that, decide how many Wiimotes and Nunchuks you would like to buy extra.

Also, the Wiimote takes AA batteries, so stock up on those.

Some good games to considder: Wii Play (comes with an extra Wiimote), Wii Fit (comes with the Wii Balance board, so more expensive. And Possibly harder to find than the Wii itself), Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, Wii Ski (also uses the Balance Board. That's optional though).

Those are just some suggestions, since I don't know your personal tastes.

The Wii balance board, is like an aerobic board, you use to play certain games.

Last, there is also the Classic Controller, which can be used with the Virtual Console. Virtual Console is a program on the Wii that lets you download games from previous systems onto the Wii. The classic controller is set up more like a traditional controller, to better play those older games. Though most you can play with the Wiimote, if you  so choose.

The games range in price starting at $5, up to $20. You can pay for them using your credit card, orr "points cards" you can purchase anywhere you can purchase a Wii. The pricing of the games is in points, not in actual dollars. 1 point= $1 (A 2000 point card is $20).

You can find more info and pics at Nintendo's official website.

  6. WELL LOOK AT WALMART OR TARGET OR GAMESTOP AND THE THINGS THAT SHOULD BE INCLUDED SHOULD BE A WII REMOTE

  7. Gamestop sells the accessary bundle online which includes everything you will need for a pretty fair price. You can check out these wii tracker sites to see who has it in stock and for how much.

  11. Yeah they are a good deal... But they may come with stuff u don't want... What i did to get my wii is called around to ever store in with 100 miles of my house. Turns out, wal-mart had one about 75 miles away... so i went to go get it. The wii is the best system out there.

  12. I wouldn't get the bundle. Just buy the Wii when you can find it (forget ebay, try your luck in stores)

And then just buy the games that interest you. It worked for me!
