Question:

Looking to get a bike: 650-750 size range?

I haven't had a bike in years. Last one was a Suzuki 650 Savage about 13 years ago. Am looking for a street cruiser (no rockets) in the 650-750 size range. A new model is preferable. I want something to go to work on and for the wife and I to enjoy so passenger comfort is a factor. Mileage is also a consideration. Might go a little larger but not sure about smaller. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

  1. I agree you can't go wrong with a Honda 750 VT Shadow. Good power and bulletproof Honda reliability. You can find good deals on left over '07 models

  2. I love my Yamaha V-Star 650, and it rides 2 adults without working too hard.

  3. if you don't buy a bigger bike now, you will end up buying two bikes. go with at least a 883.

  4. damian hit this one on the head, the shadow 750 is a great choice, and won't break the bank

  5. i personally like the honda shadow 750 in that class and quite a few discussion forum web sites agree.

  6. OK, here's your options:

Harley Davidson: The only bikes near your range are the Sportsters. Don't know if you're looking HD or not:

    Honda: The Shadow line:

Kawasaki: Vulcans come in 500 and 900, I'd go 900.

Yamaha (Star): You're looking in the V-Star line, the rest are either touring bikes or huge cruisers.

Suzuki: Boulevards. The numbers are in cubic inches, so look for the 50s and 90s.

Triumph: I like triumph, but I think the America and Bonneville are underpowered. Maybe they've made improvements, but the only step up is the monstrous Rocket III

    Victory: They're all huge
