It would only be me and my bf, we have no intentions of bringing anyone else with us, is there any way around bringing someone over 21 with us?

  1. AIDA is a nice line, I think..., especially for people under 60! They are not too expensive either, and the cabins are a bit small, but it seems cool anyway. Unfortunately, I only know that from tv. lol

    Have fun!

  2. First you AND your friends would need to have someone age 21 or older to book the cruise and to accompany you in the cabin. That is the rule for all cruise lines except Carnival which requires a person age 25 or older to accompany you.

Second, If you are under age 21 and not traveling with your parents you will need their written permission in the form of letter signed by them and notarized stating that they give you permission to travel on the cruise with ........ (whomever it is). Since your friend is under age 21 then he will need the same type permission letter.

Here's what Royal Caribbean Cruise line's web site says about minors:

" Adults who are not the parent or legal guardian of a minor traveling with them must present an original notarized letter signed by the child's parent(s), authorizing the adult to take the child on the specific cruise, supervise the child and allow emergency medical treatment to be administered.

Please note: An individual's age on the date of sailing determines his or her status for the entire cruise vacation. Royal Caribbean International does not accept reservations for student groups. Please consult a travel agent for Royal Caribbean's group policies"

So, if you follow these rules you can use any cruise line.  Otherwise you will need to wait at least a year until your boyfriend is 21 and you can use any line except Carnival.  Or, if you get married the rules change and you can go on any line but you will have to bring along your marriage certificate as proof of marriage.

  3. if you act old you will do just fine on broad ship. have fun.

  4. You can probably go on any of the Disney Cruises unaccompanied (min age to be on the cruise ship alone is 18)

Other curise lines (like Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Celebrity, NCL, Holland America) have a min age of 21 to be on the ship alone. If you are under 21, you have to be accompanied by a parent or an adult that is 21+ and will take full responsibility for you.

I would suggest using the Disney Cruise line, or else you have to ask a relative, your parents or your older sibling to accompany you.

  5. More than likely none.  I know Carnival, the primary choice for people your age, requires at least one person 25 or over or all people in the state room over 21.  Check the websites of the ones you are looking at for their individual policies(I am just learning this myself or I would be more help) to be sure.  Your primary choices will be Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Disney in your age group.  That is where most people your age would be, but most of them on Carnival, but most do require a 21 plus rule for both parties.
