  1. There are lots of good companies with vacation homes.  I have stayed with several, and my favorite is http://www.allstarvacationhomes.com

There are advantages to staying on Disney property; however, I always like to stay off site at a house, too!  Having your own pool is excellent, especially with kids.

I think you will be bored if you only do Magic Kingdom.  Two days for first timers, tops.  You may purchase 4 day tickets from Disney, though, that allow you to go to any combination of the 4 parks.  You may also purchase the "hopper" option, which allows you to go to more than one park on the same day.  Since it is your first time, I wouldn't waste time trying to park hop, though.  I would just stick at the same park all day.

My very favorite Disney planning site is http://www.allearsnet.com You might like to check it out for tips and tricks.

  2. We went a couple of years ago with a 1 year old, 5 year old, and 12 year old and had a blast.  I know the perfect spot for you to stay.  We found this vacation home about 10 minutes from the parks in it's own gated community.  It has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a 2 car garage.  And even better, it has a private pool in the backyard!  That was great!  Anyway, it is very affordable, and very nice.  We ended up paying $589 for an 8-night stay during Christmas with pool heat!  Isn't that crazy?!  The owners are very nice, and you can communicate with them through email, here is the link to the one we stayed in

There are also many other vacation homes on this site for the whole country, but this is the most affordable one I found in Florida.

To make the best out of a 4-day stay, Magic Kingdom is a must, you might even want to plan on spending 2 days there.  Then you can either go to Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom one day, and then maybe spend a day at Cocoa Beach (an hour from Orlando).  My kids preferred Hollywood Studios because they have live Playhouse Disney shows and A LOT of character meet and greets with photo opportunites.  They also have a lot of neat movie rides that the kids can ride.http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/par...

The website above tells what rides they have there.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!  If you need anything else, just contact me.

  3. If your looking to do Disney on a budget then by all means stay off property or rent a vacation home.  There are numerous vacation properties for rent and 99% have private pools unless they are with a resort style property.  Get a Hopper pass and see the Magic kingdom, Animal Kingdom, The Studios and Epcot, get at the parks early and see it all.  The kids will mainly like the magic kingdom and animal kingdom, but there are things for them at the other parks to see.

Just as an example we have a home 4 bedrooms with pool that rents for about $78 night in off season, and there are plenty more like it.  Rental homes give you more room and private pool, plus you can cut expenses by eating out from the park or making your own.

    Good luck

  4. To be honest, it's alot easier and cheaper to stay at one of their moderate resorts!

I have stayed off the Disney property before and it wasnt worth it!

It's better to stay at a moderate resort such as Port Orleans, Riverside and get a package deal with tickets and your room.

  5. I would be happy to help you plan your park itinerary and touring plans to help you get the most out of your four days.  On average, I save my clients 3-6 hours a day of waiting in line.  My clients rarely wait more than 10-15 minutes for any ride.  I have a 100% client satisfaction rating.  We can get you into at least 3 of the 4 main Disney parks, not just Magic Kingdom, there is so much fun to be had in all the parks.

I am including a link to my favorite off site location.  The owners are from NJ and they are great!  They are only 2 miles off property and the condo is so kid friendly!  I highly recommend them.

  6. Check out Summerhill Suites on Buena Vista Blvd. Its very reasonably priced, not far from the parks. Magic Kingdom takes a day, and is great for the kids, Universal is lots of fun, and Epcot is always worth a visit. Have fun!

  7. As a family of five, I can tell you that you do not want to stay in a moderate resort.  The rooms are just too small for a family of five to be comfortable.  Also, if your little ones still nap, there is no way to have them nap while everyone else relaxes.  If you stay off site in a condo or house, you will be able to have separate rooms for the kids to nap in and everyone will have their own space.

We have used Custom Mouse Plans and they were wonderful.  I recommend them to any first time visitor.  You will get so much more out of your trip if you use their plans.

  8. well i can't help you with where to stay cuz i always stay on disney property. its convienent and i'd say thats how you get the most out of a disney vacation.

i can help with what to do.

i'm sure that it doesn't take 4 days to do magic kingdom.

i would recommend 2 days though.

    so

    2 days magic kingdom

    1 day epcot.

    1 day hollywood studios.

there are soo many things for all age groups to enjyoy at disney world.

    i hope you have fun.

sorry i couldn't be more help.

i just don't know anything about vacation homes cuz i've never needed to stay in one. my family is a family of 5 so we always just stay in a hotel.

  9. I love WDW - I've been there a lot - I've taken my kids, I've gone with my mother - my kids are now adults and I go with them.  Your kids are too young - little kids seem to spend most of the time crying because they are hungry and tired or way over stimulated.  For example the first time I took my kids they were 6,8,10.  Do you know what they remember - a talking garbage can that was at Epcot.

If you do go you need to check out one thing - I like the Port Orleans riverside and the rooms are actually a decent size BUT most have a 4 person limit so make sure you are allowed.  I would stay on the property for the following reasons:

1 - There is always a park open early or open later but ONLY for disney guests.

2 - you can go early, take a break in the middle of the day and return to your hotel - nap, play in the pool and then go back more refreshed.  Hard to do that if you are not on site.

3 - If you buy anything you don't have to carry it you can have it sent to your hotel.

4 - if you are off site and want to take a mid-day break - and you will need it - you'll have to leave and repark.
