Question:

Looking to identify an insect... 6-8 Milimeters long, black, 6 legs, antenna, translucent wings... (can fly)?

They are in our house, (we live in southern manitoba) and we are trying to identify them so we can know what to do with them.

  1. It could be an ant- or a beetle, or some other type of bug. (All of those could match your criteria). Do you have a photo we could go by?

  4. I'm sorry but you haven't provided enough information for even an expert to identify your mystery insect.

    All insects have six legs

    All insects have antennae

    Many insects are 6-8 millimeters long

    Many insects have translucent wings

    Your best bet would be to either take a photo of one and upload it to the www so you can show us a picture, or phone an exterminator and ask for a free home inspection. I hope you don't have termites but -- well -- let's just say it's something to consider.

  5. You just identified thousands of species of insects lol...  Could you link to a picture, say if you find something similar online?
