Question:

Looking to plan a romantic evening in Chicago?

Annually, in August a group of couples get together for a romantic evening. We get really dressed up, and plan to spend a nice amount of money. We've done Gibsons, Capital Grill, Fogo de Chao, Signature Room, Bluewater Grill and a horse carriage ride. Is there anything else out there for us to do?

  1. I love the places at the Italian Village.

  2. We just came back from a trip to Chicago.  We saw Jersey Boys at the new LaSalle Banking Center Theater, and so we picked a restaurant close by, not thinking it would be anything really special, just convenient.  On the contrary, however, it was one of the highlights of our trip.  It is an Italian restaurant and I believe the name is Livre.  It is something very close to that, if not.  They offer a five-course "feed me," with the appropriate wine pairings (or not), but our waiter said we did not have enough time for five courses, but we could do three.  We did.  It was superb...no red sauce, however.  Excellent meal and in a very romantic atmosphere.  For a group, I'd ask to sit upstairs.  Hope you like it.  If not for this occasion, do go sometime.  Oh, you might go to the theatre before or after dinner...the space is beautifully done.

  3. Charlie Trotters.  You can pay premium and get up front seats like it is done on Emeril's show.

  4. Shaw's Crab house is absolutely amazing

  5. go to comos italian restaurant and then maybe a walk on navy peir

  6. Did you ever try the Signature room inside he John Hancock Building? It is on the 95th floor overlooking the magnificent mile. Here is the websiste:

    Enjoy!

  9. You should try Alinea in Lincoln Park.  You can choose either the 12 or 24 course menu.  It's expensive, but it takes 3-4 hours to eat dinner.  It was named best restaurant in America by Gourmet magazine in 2006.

  10. It looks like you enjoy hood food as you dine and talk.  I would suggest the following places.  The first is near downtown.  The other has several branches...one is off Michigan Blvd.  Both have candle lit, dark dining rooms and great food:
