Looking to rent an OUTDOOR dance floor for a wedding in Chicago. Everywhere ive called wants to sell me a tent

They do rent dance floors by themselves, I've done it.  Don't know about the rental companies in your area, but the ones around here do try to talk you into a tent also, b/c in the event that it rains and you have no tent, then the dance floor will be damaged or ruined.  AND if it's ruined or damaged while you have it rented, you are liable for that damage!  So, consider very carefully whether or not you want to take this responsibility on yourself or not, before you rent just the dance floor.

It may be worth it to you to take the risk; that's your decision.

They may be trying to get you to rent a tent but you don't need to.  If you rent a tent you will still need the floor.  Just tell them you don't want the tent just the floor. How hard is that?
