I assume you are trying to do it on the Internet and that is not going to work.  It won't work in most of Mexico unless you want to pay tourist prices.  Even going to realtors when you get there will cost mucho extra

Find an area you like, walk the streets, talk to people .... is really the only sane way to do it.  There will be 'renta' signs and phone numbers .... or the neighbor may own it
