i have vonage as my home phone service. and all you need is high speed internet access to operate it. i was wondering if it will work on a military base as i am deploying to iraq. this would make it a whole lot cheaper to call home.

  1. As long as you have a high speed internet connection, you should be able to use it.

  2. i wouls call vontage direct and ask them if should

  3. yes, as long you have high-speed Internet....but you can not make calls within the country........just use it to call back to the US and getting calls from the US!!

there are much cheaper ways to stay in contact!!

but since you already have Vonage just get a V-Phone....install it on your laptop before you go!!

make sure you set it up here (softfone)  and registered it !!

just put the V-phone in the USB port....very easy to travel with!!! I but you will have lots of guys asking you if they can use it!!

  4. It would depend on your (military) units connectivity.  The more remote you are stationed - the less likelyhood of getting open access to a connection.  Your unit may also block voip packets.

  5. you should try skype and take it with you here is the website:::
