Looking to travel from manchester to newcastle. Can someone tell me how and where can i buy the cheap tickets?

thanks for your replies but i already knew and tried about national express, transpenn and also in first great western, but the charge is the same as in other trains. I wanted to know, what people do that they say they bought ticket for 10 quids or so

  2. go on www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk, you can get cheaper tickets if you book in advance... also, buying two singles are cheaper than buying a return

  3. The cheapest tickets are usually for travel at off-peak times.  If you are flexible with your arrangements you can get good deals.

  4. Your best bet is the Transpennine Express Website. www.tpexpress.co.uk - they operate a fast, direct service between Manchester Piccadilly & Newcastle, about every Hour. You can get the cheapest tickets buy puchasing them up to THREE MONTHS in advance, and this can be from www.thetrainline.com, any TOC website with a booking facility (eg: www.tpexpress.co.uk OR www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com). You can also use telesales services, or get them at the ticket office.
